Stripper Wages – How Much Money Do Strippers Make?
I get asked all the time, “How much money do strippers make?” Well, it varies from a good night to a bad night, but let’s say a stripper only earns an average of $200/shift and works 4 times a week. That’s $800/week or $40,000 per year. If she works 5 times a week, that’s $1,000/week or $50,000 a year. When I first published this article in the fall of 2007, most strippers I knew were making an average of $500/shift, working 4 shifts a week, which translated into a 6 figure business .
Some strippers still make that kind of money (those who have taken a strip sales training course definitely do!) However, most exotic dancers I know have suffered a 20% drop or more of their profits due to the slowing economy.
I spent a good 2 hours researching the Bell Curve stats on professional salaries. If you’re not a statistician, let me explain. In this case, the bell curve measures the distribution of wages between the lowest 10th percentile, the middle 50th percentile, and the highest 90th percentile. The bell curve measures data more accurately than an average. The average is a poor measure of data because a very high number or a very low number can completely skew your average. (sleep, sleep…. I was a math teacher, remember?)
All figures are given in thousands of dollars, except that M means million.

I included baseball players because it cracks me up to see how these minor league guys walk into the Strip Club during spring training. They love telling the door staff that they should get in for free because they’re baseball players, and they think the girls should give them free dances because they’re baseball players. The new girls are eating because they think they’re sitting on the next Derek Jeter’s lap. Uh… no… homeboy only earns $2500 a month!! Also note that even though newspapers report that the average salary in baseball is 2 million, most of that money goes to top players like Bonds, Jeter, Sosa, etc. The majority of guys in the league are shooting $385,000. Not too shabby… but far from the “average” 2 million.
What I found most depressing were the higher education salaries. Everyone knows that public school teachers don’t make a lot of money…but college professors aren’t far behind. Look at the salary scale for university deans! They’re some of the brightest minds in the world… and they earn nothing more than a stripper?
This highlights the fact that EDUCATION is not equal to MONEY more. I wish I could change that equation, but I can’t. Going to school, getting a higher degree does not mean guarantee you a secure job with a pension, as many university graduates are now discovering.
I’m not saying that stripping is the answer for all attractive women. However, if you are considering becoming a stripper or want to make more money stripping, a sales training course can help.
